Dr. Tony Robinson brings extensive experience from both higher education and enterprise technology leadership. His professional career has included senior technology and executive leadership roles in higher education, K–12 education, corporate environments, and nonprofit organizations, including positions as Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Director of Technology Services. His work has focused on information systems strategy, cybersecurity, cloud computing, instructional technology, and organizational digital transformation.
His academic career has been closely connected to technology innovation, online learning, and information systems education for more than a decade. Dr. Robinson is currently an Associate Professor of Information Systems Technology at Seminole State College of Florida and has taught undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral-level courses for institutions including Western Governors University, University of the Cumberlands, Southern New Hampshire University, Aspen University, and King University. He also serves as a dissertation chair, academic reviewer, and subject matter expert in information technology and educational technology programs.
Dr. Robinson holds a Doctor of Business Administration with a specialization in Management Information Systems from Northcentral University. His research focuses on generative artificial intelligence in higher education, faculty adoption of emerging technologies, instructional innovation, and technology acceptance. His recent work examines how institutional influence, meaningful usefulness, simplicity, and faculty attitudes shape AI adoption in teaching and learning environments. He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed publications in educational technology and information systems and has presented nationally and internationally on AI integration, faculty development, and digital transformation in higher education.
He is an active member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), SIGMIS, and SIGITE. His current work focuses on helping institutions move from reactive approaches to AI toward intentional, ethical, and pedagogically meaningful implementation strategies.
